Gathering Blankets for Children

Every child deserves warmth, comfort, and the reassurance that someone cares. Our Gathering Blankets for Children event brings together volunteers, donors, and local families for a day dedicated to wrapping young lives in handmade hope. From infants in hospital NICUs to children entering foster care, each blanket carries a message of love stitched by community hands.

This year's event expands our reach to three additional pediatric facilities, aiming to deliver over 1,200 blankets in a single day. Volunteers will sort, package, and personally deliver blankets alongside our partner organizations. Whether you contribute a blanket, your time, or a financial gift, your impact is felt immediately by children who need it most.

Event Content

1. Opening ceremony and volunteer orientation at 10:00 AM, followed by blanket sorting and quality inspection stations where every donated item is prepared for delivery.
2. Interactive sewing stations for on-site blanket creation, led by experienced quilters who guide participants through simple patterns suitable for all skill levels.
3. Delivery teams depart at 1:00 PM to three partner hospitals and two family shelters, personally handing blankets to children and caregivers.
4. Closing celebration at 3:30 PM featuring stories from recipients, volunteer recognition, and announcement of next quarter's goals and upcoming events.
